NovSembreak equals Movie Marathon!
Okay. So, for my fourth year in college, I’ve had one whole month of Semestral break. :> It started October 7 and ends at November 7. Well, besides the events and activities i’ve organized, supervised and have been to, I’ve made myself busy by watching movies! Wait, more like chick flicks. :>
2012

Okay fine. It’s been a while since this movie was released and it was only this sembreak that I got to watch it. Well, it was a breather. After having been able to watch love stories over and over, this was something different. :>
While me and my sister were watching this, we were literally at the edges of our seats. But then again, when the movie ended we both had the same feeling: it was just like Noah’s story retold in a modern version. Nonetheless, we enjoyed watching it and we were amazed by its graphics!
Rating: 8/10

I loved this one. It had a predictable story (well, pare-pareho naman kasi talaga ang storyline ng chick flicks right? HAHA), but i still enjoyed it. Prolly because it had an element of history, which, by the way, i loved. :>
Actually, this movie made me want to go and write a letter to Juliet! Hoping that one day, someone will reply and will make me feel good about my lovelife’s situation.
And oh, how can i forget? My sister and I hated the guts of the Victor because he was a food freak. Ugh! And yes, I hope and i wish that i would not have to wait for 50 long years just to be with the one i love.=)
I highly recommend this for the hopeless romantics! ;)

Going the Distance

This movie was great in a sense that it explored and had shown what it is like to have a long distance relationship. And mind you, i think it sucks. :| Not being able to see your guy for the longest time nor being able to talk to him personally. Though technology made things possible in a digital way, things are still different when the person is actually standing in front of you. right? Nonetheless, hanga ako sa mga LDRs!
Going back to the movie, i think what’s best in it is that it is practical! It actually showed how girls and how guys think. And as they said, there are some things for both girls and guys in the movie.

When in Rome

Now this one’s weird. and it felt surreal. I felt as if i was watching a fantasy film rather than a chick flick. I mean, I could not seem to think if what happened in the movie is actually possible or not.
The theme of the movie was actually good cause it tried to explore the mystery of that certain fountain. But maybe if the script was written in a better manner or something, then it would not have come off very unrealistic.
It was not really a waste of time. But I could have watched a better movie =))

Horrible Bosses

Horrible Bosses is actually a hilarious movie but it kind of went under my expectations. I mean, I had a friend telling me how good this movie was and how much I had to watch it, and so i did. But boy, I did not really have a great time. I mean, it was good. But maybe i expected more. Plus, how weird it is to see Jennifer Aniston acting crazily like that? :))))
I loved the part where the car actually talked tho! :P Without it, the movie would have had a different ending.=))

Hello, Stranger

I actually watched this film outside the sembreak season but I had to watch it again with my sister aka movie-marathon-buddy. :> And boy did it not fail me for the second time. Though I know the things that will happen, I still cried and i still laughed my heart out. :)
This movie, like almost all Thai movies, is open ended meaning it has no definite ending and it is up to the viewer to make up an ending of some sort in his head. :) Because of that, naging mas dramatic yung movie. Cause you never really know what happened.
And yeah, this movie is also unique because from start to finish, the names of the agonists are not mentioned!
This movie has shown that it is possible to love someone even though we do not know his name or have only been together for a short while. :> Hello, stranger! has shown that love truly is magical. :)

Bridesmaids

When my friend told me that she watched this movie and that she hated it, I expected to actually hate this movie too. But still, silly me, i downloaded it and watched it.=))
Well, Bridesmaid is kind of good because it has a different storyline. It was unlike other chick flicks which focused on a girl getting to know a guy and vice versa. It was about a girl loosing her best friend to another girl and so she tries her very best to win her back. and voila, at the end of the day, even though lotsa shits come through their way, it is always the best friend that wins. :)
A feel good movie for me though some parts were actually gross. :))

Serendipity

This can prolly pass as one of the greatest chick flicks of all time. Probably next to The Notebook and A Walk to Remember? Some may agree with me and some may argue that it is just the same old boring chick flick.
Well. All i can say is that this movie’s theme and story is just too close to home. Like what i said about “Letters to Juliet,” I just wish that I would not have to wait for a long time before I can be with the man i love.
However, this movie has shown me that if two souls are really meant to be together, THEY WILL BE. <3

Date Night.

This one is a different type of Chick Flick for it also had some action in it. :> siguro eto yung date movie talaga. :P Cause it can pass as an action movie (though NOT REALLY), and as a chick flick. :>
It was kinda cool watching this. But for me, the main conflict was kinda shallow and was kinda weird — A FLASHDRIVE or as the girl agonist calls it, “computer sticky thing”.
But then again, okay naman sha. :> A different one and a good one at that!

What’s Your Number

Again, prolly it’s bad for me to hear good reviews about movies because i tend to expect :)) Well, a friend of mine told me that this was the ultimate 2011 chick flick and I was like, “I REALLY HAVE TO WATCH IT!” and a part of me was, “WHY DID I NOT WATCH THIS WHEN IT WAS SHOWING IN THEATRES?” So yeah, I just had to make a way, and luckily, another friend of mine invited me to watch it with her.
So at first, i was excited. But halfway through it, I kinda got disappointed because the movie was kind of stupid. Well, add that to the fact that the main star was the lead star in “House Bunny”. And yes, I found her to be more stupid in this movie. :))
The movie was quite good though but I guess it was the expectation AGAIN that made me think that this was horrible. But if i may say, I LOVED the guy. :> He was so gwapo and so adorable. :)

Love of Siam.

Well, who would have thought that “Ang Pagdadalaga ni Maximo Oliveros” actually had a Thai counterpart? Hmm. Not exactly, though. But it did not cross my mind that Thais would actually play with the bisexual/homosexual plot.
Though this story was about two boys finding their way into love, I must say that it was done beautifully and classy. It was not the kind of movie wherein you’ll get grossed out by the two boys’ story. Maybe because the story was not really about GAY LOVE but about love in general. :)
The movie has shown a lot of relationship thing going on — a mother loving her family, a guy loving his friend, a friend loving his friends and much much more. and i must say that the movie has shown what love can do to a person. May it be platonic, agape or whathaveyou kind of love, it brings positive effects in one’s life.
“As long as there is love, there is hope” :>
PS. I dont care if he is gay or what. All i know is that he is one hell of a cute guy <3

If Only

I was able to watch the first part of this story in my friend’s house but i had to leave as soon as my father fetched me. And yes, I was quite disappointed because I was not able to watch the movie, which my friends have said was really a tearjerker. And I was also disappointed cause they mentioned that the movie was not so popular and so, I would have a hard time searching for a decent torrent. but Lo and behold, i was able to watch it :>
This movie, for me and my sister, was actually weird. the cab driver, for us, was way beyond freaky. bUT THen again, thinking through, I believe that the cab driver had a very important role.
“If only” was the title of the film and I believe that no other title could have better been chosen. Those two words were as powerful and as impactful (if there’s a word) as the phrase, “WHAT IF” and yes, this was what the movie has shown. What if/If only the guy had not taken the girl for granted. Would things change?
Anyway, I recommend this movie for those who do not know how to show their love! Better watch it para hindi kayo matulad sa lead actor.=)

Bad Teacher.

Another feel good movie which practically does not have much story to share other than a woman wanting to have a breast enlargement. Kinda crazy though.
I do not have much to say coz the movie does not have much to show either. :P Prolly you can watch it if you guys do not really have any thing to do.

Uptown Girls

By the looks of the reviews of this movie, I thought that I would end up hating the movie. But then, I ended up liking it because it actually had substance. :)
This movie had shown how two extremely different people can actually like each other and end up teaching each other lessons about life. :>
The adult with a mind wanting to be young and the kid with a cold heart. :)

You Again.

at the start of the movie, my sister went something like, “I have a feeling that this will be just like MEAN GIRLS” and lo and behold, it was. Only kind of the grown up part. :P
This movie has shown what happens after the “queen bee” actually gets old and decides to live a new life. It had quite a shallow story but i still liked it cause it had the element of family — prolly i miss my brother too much. :))
This is another feel good movie but this time, it has more essence and has more values. :>

Just Go with It.

There’s only one thing that I will say: I fell in love with the love story of Aniston and Sandler. <3 Wala lang, nakakatuwa lang. At first, I thought the movie was just a comedy show and was not really worth watching but im glad my sister made me continue watching it because after the movie, I saw myself smiling. :>
Cute lang ng story nila. Covering up and lying for each other and eventually falling and having something extraordinary. :>

Praybeyt Benjamin

This one’s actually not a DVD or a torrent but is actually a movie that i watched in the theaters. And mind you, i watched it twice.=)) the first one was with my friends (oct 26) and the second, with my parents and sister (oct 27). :P
This movie was a typical Filipino comedy. I wanted to have a good laugh and I wanted to enjoy the company of my friends. And mind you, I DID. :) Thank you, Vice Ganda. :))

Dream House

After I watched this movie, I only had one thing left to say. I was mindfucked. :)) probably because the story was not well written and well stitched. Although I can say that it was quite good. :)
Alsoooo, my sister and I thought that this was a horror film and one that will leave us covering our eyes. But no, it was a thriller film. Though not as “thrilly” as the other thriller movies ive watched =)

I Dont Know How She Does It

Probably this is also a movie that is close to home. Why? Because, i think, people do not also know how i do it =))) Just like the lead star, I often find myself having too much things in my plate yet i end up handling things well. But then again, like SJP, I also end up neglecting my emotional side. :|
Anyway, this movie was kind of okay. It was good until it became draggy. The end part was like stretched just so it can reach the usual movie time.
I know that this was actually based on a book, and so I am wondering if the book version is better or the movie one. :>

Okay. So, nakakapagod din palang gumawa ng Movie Reviews (Though I obviously have no future for it, HAHA). =))
So, thank you for all those who tried reading my review :)) and sorry for those who found it boring. :)
